"Beauty Is..."  The 2009-2010 Reflections Art Program

What is Reflections?

The Reflections Program is a National PTA and a Washington State PTA cultural arts program for students. The purpose for this program is to provide our children an opportunity to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through your own original works, created around a specific theme. This year's theme is "Beauty Is…" and each child decide what that phrase means to him / her and how best to express it.   Students in Kindergarten thru 5th grade are encouraged to create and submit original works of art in one (or more) of the following Arts Categories:

Arts Categories:

• Literature-works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, prose, drama, short stories, and lyrics.
• Music composition-original musical composition, with or without lyrics
• Photography-prints up to 11x14" in color or black and white, including techniques of photogram, retouched, montage, sandwich and multiple
exposures.
• Visual arts-prints, drawings, painting, collages, photographic collages, metal etching, fiber work and computer generated art.
• Film/video-fiction or nonfiction video created as animation, a narrative, documentary, experimental, or music video
• Choreography/Dance-create original choreographed dance and perform it on tape

Deadline:

Finished entries should be turned in to the main office at school, on or before November 13th, by 3:00pm. Each entry must be accompanied by an official entry form which includes the student's name, grade, artist statement and parent's signature. Be sure you have read the rules and comply with them, so that your entry is not disqualified.

Please pick up an Entry Form and general participation rules from the main office at school.  You can find further information and detailed guidelines on the Washington State PTA web site.
